Gene Name :
NCBP2

Gene Alias :
CBC2, CBP20, NIP1, PIG55

Gene Description :
nuclear cap binding protein subunit 2, 20kDa

Gene Summary :
The product of this gene is a component of the nuclear cap-binding protein complex (CBC), which binds to the monomethylated 5′ cap of nascent pre-mRNA in the nucleoplasm. The encoded protein has an RNP domain commonly found in RNA binding proteins, and contains the cap-binding activity. The CBC promotes pre-mRNA splicing, 3′-end processing, RNA nuclear export, and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Other Designations :
NCBP interacting protein 1|cell proliferation-inducing gene 55

MedChemExpress (MCE) recombinant proteins include: cytokines, enzymes, growth factors, hormones, receptors, transcription factors, antibody fragments, etc. They are often essential for supporting cell growth, stimulating cell signaling pathways, triggering or inhibiting cell differentiation; and are useful tools for elucidating protein structure and function, understanding disease onset and progression, and validating pharmaceutical targets. At MedChemExpress (MCE), we strive to provide products with only the highest quality. Protein identity, purity and biological activity are assured by our robust quality control and assurance procedures.
